More on Walter Reed

Anne Hull and Dana Priest, the Washington Post reporters whose meticulous stories in late February on the abysmal conditions at the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington forced the Army to investigate the state of its flagship hospital and rehabilitation center, detail in this morning's paper how top Army officials had been told of problems at the complex at least three years ago.

Late this afternoon, the Post reported that Walter Reed's top commander, George W. Weightman, had been relieved of his position. The Army's surgeon general, Kevin C. Kiley, who last week blamed the Post for exaggerating the deplorable conditions at Walter Reed, will take over in the interim.

You can read the Post's special report on the Walter Reed fiasco here.
